During the past hundred years of its history the Centre for Farm Animal Gene Conservation has always played a significant role in the gene conservation, research, breeding, education, consultation and extension activities connected to Hungarian small animal breeding.
Development of ecological small animal breeding based on indigenous Hungarian breeds and species
The aim of our project was to develop new, semi-intensive – free range – genotypes and keeping and breeding technologies, those are suitable for production of special quality products even in certified ecological farming systems. Chicken, turkey and rabbit species and fish production are also involved to the project.
Improving of the reproduction parameters in rabbit breeding
Aims of the project: The reproduction of rabbit at a mass production level needs artificial insemination. The aim of the project is to develop new reproduction techniques to improve the fertility level in both, male and female sides.
