The history of this breed – although there is much uncertainty about it – dates back to the farthest in time among all farm animals in Hungary. The breed has no standard height; there are several types within that. Small, medium and large size varieties exist. It has solid bone structure and it is a lank, but strong and well muscled breed. Many varieties of colour can be found, from mouse-grey to black. Swallow-belly is typical, but the eel stripe on the back and the cross stripe on the shoulders are getting ever rarer. We keep a specimen for demonstration purpose.
