Dr. László Szabolcs Békési
He has been working in KÁTKI since 2004 as chief research fellow, and now as negotiated consultant. His field of research covers the diagnostics, prevention and treatment of bee diseases, as well as the elaboration of alternative ways of protection. He is also interested in researching the relation between bees and their environment and investigating the effect of genetically modified plants. Formerly he has achieved internationally acknowledged results in the research of viruses and parasites of national and tropical fish species. He has given lectures in parasitology through about ten years then later a subject on bee diseases at the Faculty of Veterinarian Sciences of Szent István University. At the present, as a member of the doctoral school of Szent István University, he is the scientific part-supervisor of a PhD student.
He has spent many years in Laos and later in Brazil working as consultant, lecturer and researcher. He is a regular lecturer in the state-approved training course of apiarist skilled workers run in the frame of adult training at Szent István University.
He has got a list of more than 150 national and international publications.
